COVID-19 Vaccinations Training Offered by Ohio EMS

This edition of the COVID-19 Vaccination for Ohio EMS Providers training module is focused on the Pfizer®/BioNTech® COVID-19 vaccine which is the first COVID-19 vaccine that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As other COVID-19 vaccines are approved by the FDA, additional editions of COVID-19 Vaccinations by Ohio EMS Providers will be available for those specific products.

The goal of the following presentation is to provide a foundation of knowledge based upon the Ohio EMS scope of practice and the recommendations from our federal and state public health organizations. Despite the variations in local or regional protocols and standard operating procedures that may exist, the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services provides this program, which contains training elements provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, for the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine by Ohio EMS personnel as a resource.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS.
